The Slip-On.

79.2 gallons, a WATERAX® pump on a Honda GX270 — built onto a TTI poly tank, ready to drop on the back of a UTV and go.

79.2 Gallon poly tank
~106 GPM at the pump
25 Year tank warranty
§ 01 — The pitch

Most slip-ons ship in a box.
Ours ships running.

A slip-on skid is three things that have to work together under pressure: a tank that won't crack, a pump that pulls its rated flow, and an engine that starts cold on the worst morning of the year. Buy them as a kit in a carton and the first time anyone finds out whether they actually run together is on a grass fire.

We build this one differently. The tank is a TTI rotationally-moulded poly shell — 79.2 gallons, UV-stabilized, fully drainable, carrying a 25-year warranty. We mate it to a WATERAX® high-pressure pump on a genuine Honda GX270, plumb the pressure-relief bypass, fit the reel and frame, and wet-test the assembled unit before it leaves the Sioux Falls warehouse. It arrives primed, proven, and ready for the bed of the truck.

And because WATERAX is a line we service — field-serviceable pumps, certified repair on-site, parts on the shelf — the unit doesn't become a paperweight the first season a seal goes. We keep it running in-territory instead of shipping it back to a factory.

§ 02 — The build

Six parts. All of them serviceable.

No mystery assemblies and no sealed black boxes. Every component on this skid is a name you know and a part we can get — engine, pump, tank, reel, frame, plumbing. Here's what's bolted to it and why each piece is on there.

02

WATERAX® Pump

High-pressure · ~106 GPM

A WATERAX high-pressure fire pump rated to roughly 106 GPM (400 L/min) — pressure and reach for direct attack or supply. Field-serviceable, and a line Heiman repairs on-site with parts stocked. Pump model configurable to the department's pressure/flow target.

  • Flow: Up to ~106 GPM (400 L/min)
  • Service: WATERAX authorized — certified repair on-site, parts on the shelf
03

79.2-Gal Poly Tank

TTI rotomolded · 25-yr warranty

A TTI rotationally-moulded, UV-stabilized polyethylene tank — 79.2 gallons (300 L), fully drainable, with a calibrated sight-level tube molded into the side wall so the operator can read water level at a glance. Backed by a 25-year tank warranty.

  • Capacity: 79.2 gal (300 L), fully drainable
  • Tank warranty: 25 years, UV-stabilized poly
04

Hose Reel

118 ft × ¾″ · Twist nozzle

A heavy-duty manual-rewind reel carrying 118 ft (36 m) of ¾-inch hose, with a safety locking catch and an adjustable twist-type nozzle for straight stream to fog. Powder-coated for the weather it lives in.

  • Hose: 118 ft (36 m) × ¾ in
  • Nozzle: Adjustable twist-type; manual rewind, powder-coated
05

Galvanized Mount & Skid

Galvanized steel · Poly skid base

The WATERAX pump and hose reel sit on a galvanized steel mounting plate fixed to the integrated poly skid base, with tie-down points so the unit straps down solid in the bed and stays put on grade.

  • Mount: Galvanized steel pump & reel plate on poly skid
  • Handling: Tie-down points; drops into a full-size UTV bed

Pressure-Relief Bypass

Pump protection

A pressure-relief bypass routes excess pressure back to the tank when the nozzle is closed — keeping the pump cool and protected during the long stretches it idles on scene with the line shut down.

  • Function: Returns excess flow to tank, keeps pump cool
  • Benefit: Longer pump life on extended standby

Dimensions & weight — Length 34.3 in (870 mm) · Width 43.3 in (1100 mm) · Height 33.5 in (850 mm) · Dry weight ~309 lb (140 kg). Compact footprint and a low center of gravity, sized to drop into the bed of a full-size UTV — shown here in a Polaris Ranger XP (crew cab). A bottom-fill kit is available as an option.

§ 03 — Built for the work

One skid.
More jobs than just fire.

It earns its spot in the shed the other fifty weeks of the year, too. Same unit, different nozzle, different task — the reason a small department or a hobby operation can justify the buy.

02

Rapid response

Low center of gravity

A handy footprint and a low center of gravity keep the UTV stable on grade and on the move — first water on a spot fire while the engine is still en route.

03

Easy to move & secure

Self-contained skid · Tie-downs

A self-contained skid with tie-down points drops into the UTV bed and straps down solid — on and off the truck without a crew, and locked down once it's loaded.

04

Know your water

Calibrated sight tube

A calibrated sight-level tube on the tank wall shows remaining water at a glance — no guessing how many gallons are left before the line runs dry.

Pump model, nozzle, and a bottom-fill kit are all configurable to how the department actually works. The buying conversation is usually which pump and flow for our ground, not does it come this way.

§ 04 — Why buy it from us

Three things a drop-shipped kit can’t give you.

01

Assembled and wet-tested in Sioux Falls.

We mate the WATERAX pump and Honda engine to the TTI tank, plumb the bypass, and run water through the assembled unit before it ships. It arrives proven — not a carton of parts and a hope that they fit.

02

WATERAX service, in-territory.

Heiman is a WATERAX service tier dealer — certified pump repair on-site and parts on the shelf. When a seal or impeller goes, the unit gets fixed here instead of shipping back to a factory and sitting out a season.

03

One PO with the rest of the order.

Speccing a unit alongside turnout, pumps, or apparatus through Heiman? Put the skid on the same quote. One delivery, one point of contact, one warranty path — from a family-owned shop that’s served the region since 1947.

§ 05 — From order to delivery

From quote to first water, in four steps.

  1. 01

    Size it to your ground.

We talk through pump and flow target, nozzle choice, UTV fit, and whether a bottom-fill kit makes sense for your fill points. The 79.2-gallon tank is the constant; the rest gets configured.

  2. 02

    Quote and configure.

One PO covers the unit and any options. If it’s going on a larger order with other Heiman gear, it rides on the same quote and the same delivery.

  3. 03

    Built and wet-tested.

We assemble the WATERAX pump, Honda engine, reel, and plumbing onto the TTI tank and run water through it. The unit leaves Sioux Falls primed and proven.

  4. 04

    Delivered. Walked through. In service.

For departments in the seven-state territory we deliver in person and walk the crew through start-up, the bypass, and basic pump service — ready to run that shift.

§ 06 — Start here

Request a quote.
Or call and talk it through.

Tell us the UTV, the ground you cover, and the flow you want at the nozzle — we’ll spec the pump, configure the unit, and put it on one quote. For anything going on a PO with a chief’s signature, talk to a person.
